That is correct. His name is Thomas S. Monson. The Lord speaks through President Monson just as He spoke through ancient prophets.
Yes. We believe God has always revealed his truth through living witnesses (Amos 3:7). We cannot contemplate a time when the children of God were in more need of direction from on high than right now. The current prophet is named Thomas S. Monson. There are also 12 living apostles.
One of the great truths that Mormonism teaches is that God has not ceased to talk to His children. Our Heavenly Father still reveals His will through a living prophet just as He did during biblical times. As Joseph Smith once wrote in a letter to his uncle Silas Smith in 1833:
“Seeing that the Lord has never given the world to understand by anything heretofore revealed that he had ceased forever to speak to his creatures when sought unto in a proper manner, why should it be thought a thing incredible that he should be pleased to speak again in these last days for their salvation? Perhaps you may be surprised at this assertion that I should say for the salvation of his creatures in these last days since we have already in our possession a vast volume of his word which he has previously given. But you will admit that the word spoken to Noah was not sufficient for Abraham.” Just as God called one prophet after another during biblical times, He has resumed doing so in modern times.
I have felt the Spirit of the Lord testify to me personally that President Monson is a true prophet of God.
