Common Misconceptions

There are seemingly innumerable misconceptions about the “Mormons” or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

For example:

  1. False: The FLDS church is the same as the LDS church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the Mormons). 
  2. False: Mormons have horns. 
  3. False: Mormons worship Joseph Smith.
  4. False: Mormons dress in old fashioned clothes.
  5. False: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a cult.
  6. False: Mormons practice polygamy.
  7. False: Mormons can’t use electricity.
